*Senior Graduation Requirement: To make sure Seniors are able to meet the state-required number of school days, HHS will be able to count June 3 as a Distance Learning Day, as long as students participate in one of the options listed below:
· College Visit
· Employer Approved to Work
· Work Based Learning Day (Career Shadowing)
· Service Learning Day (Community Service)
IMPORTANT: Seniors who do not turn their form in to Student Services by May 23 will not participate in the graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 2 with members of their class.
Camp Invention Leadership Interns
Camp dates: June 20-24
Joan Martin: 8am-4pm
There is a mentorship program available through Camp Invention for students entering grades 11 or 12, or graduating this year. Interns work with campers, building a fun, safe environment and mentoring them in Camp STEM activities. Besides attending camp, interns must be available to help with set up on June16. You can earn 40 + volunteer hours (a great addition to scholarship, college and job applications!) It is also a community service opportunity for students to earn a Brick for next year. Click for information on the program, or to sign up for this great opportunity.
Summer Tennis Registration is now open. Registration will be available Wednesday, May 25 and Thursday, May 26 at Door 16 from 5:30 - 6:30pm.
HHS is sponsoring a new program. “Yohan’s Closet” will make personal care items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant and more, available for students who are unable to purchase them. If you already enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program, you qualify. Stop by the Media Center or the Nurse’s office to pick up a form. Completed forms are to be turned in to the Nurse.
Juniors, the Meningitis booster shot is required by law for all incoming seniors. You must have this shot in order to start your senior year! You can go to your family physician, health department, CVS, Walgreens or the Brickie Clinic located at HHS. See Mrs. O'Brien in the Nurse's station or call 219-942-8521 ext 8005 with questions. Please click on all requirements for the immunization chart, or on Meningitis information for more about this vaccine.
