• HOBART MIDDLE SCHOOL FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES
    SPANISH-The 2 Spanish classes went to the Museum of Science and Industry to watch a Latin American dance show complete with songs.  The students watched the Mexican Jarabe-Tapatio, the Columbian Cumbia, the exciting Caribbean Salsa and Merengue and the Argentinean Tango.  They also saw the Malambo and the rhythmic bombos (drums) and the magic of the Boleadores and more.  This was an authentic multicultural experience that ended with an interactive dance on stage with the students and Mrs. Stelzner went on stage to dance when they invited the teachers....what fun!
    The Spanish students are learning how to use adjectives to describe people.
    The Spanish students and 6th and 7th graders learned about the Day of the Dead and made masks and puppets.

    FRENCH-The French class learned about La Toussaint in France...All Saints Day and decorated Eiffel Tower cookies in class.  The French classes are learning how to express likes and dislikes and 6th graders continue to learn about how English has borrowed words from all different world languages and some French food words.  One class got to taste a piece of baguette with pâté.  They all tried the pâté but not all liked it!
