    HALEY RIVERA
    Hobart High School Senior
    Class of 2016

Every year Indiana INTERNnet celebrates internship excellence at the Annual IMPACT Awards luncheon in Indianapolis. This year we are proud to have one of HHS's own students recognized in the category of Intern of the Year, Haley Rivera. Haley is a Senior and was nominated for her work as an intern at Brickyard Pediatrics. In late Fall, a letter was mailed to Haley that would make any Brickie proud. It simply states that Haley is a rock star that brought meaningful experiences, success, and importance to her internship and this prestigious award is a small acknowledgment of her BIG impact. Congratulations Haley!

Here is what the letter states,

"On February 3, 2016, Indiana INTERNnet will celebrate internship excellence at the 10th Annual IMPACT Awards luncheon. Congratulations, you have been nominated in the category of Inter of the Year for your contribution to the Brickyard Pediatrics! Valentine Torres nominated you for this prestigious awards and has been notified through copy of this letter.
The IMPACT Awards luncheon, sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College, is a program that shines light on the importance of internships and applauds the individuals who make these experiences meaningful and successful. Out judges were so impressed by your accomplishments, as well as the many other stories of achievement from employers, college/universities and interns this year. We are excited to individually recognize all nominees in the categories of Intern of the Year, Employer of the Year, and Career Development Professional of the Year during the luncheon, and we encourage you to register to attend this celebration. One winner in each category will be announced at the event.
Angie Hicks, namesake and face of Angie's List will deliver the keynote address, "Local Talent, Local Opportunities: Succeed Right Here in Indiana," complementing the luncheon's theme: "Homegrown Talent." Hicks credits an internship with Bill Oesterie as the stepping stone that led to her success at Angie's List. She so impressed Bill as an intern that he asked her to join him in co-founding Angie's List in 1995. The company, which sought to solve the age-old homeowners problem of how to find reliable, local service, today serves more than 3 million paid households, delivering an e-commerce marketplace as well as reliable consumer reviews covering everything from home improvement to health care. Gerry Dick, president/managing editor, Grow INdiana Media Ventures and host, Inside INdiana Business will be the master of ceremonies. "

........Sincerely, Janet Boston - Executive Director of Indiana INTERN.net
