• Fever Cares visits the School City of Hobart Elementary Schools!

Fever Cares is an Indiana Fever woman's professional basketball organization that teaches students about creating healthy lifestyles. As part of the Pacers Sports  & Entertainment's Health Initiative and WNBA Fit Program, the Get Fever Fit program holds monthly Get Fever Fit clinics throughout the WNBA season.
      Ashley and Roberta
Fever coaches, players and/or Fever staff teach proper exercise techniques, show how being active can be fun with basketball drills, and teach about healthy living styles. Professional Indiana Fever basketball player Ashley Miller and Indiana Fever Community Relations & Special Projects Manager, Roberta Courtright were the guests that came and educated our students about eating healthy and being active.
    Roberta
Roberta talked to the kids about the message of My Plate - Lean protein, lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains and low fat dairy. Roberta then challenged the students with an extra credit project to track/journal their food for a week.
    Ashley
Next, Ashley explained to the students about how important stretching their bodies are. She then went into teaching strength training and cardio. She used her professional skills to show the kids some dribbling drills, then the kids took a turn at showing off their skills!
