• Meet Jim Aylesworth at Our language arts night

We were very happy to have Jim Aylesworth visit our school and share what it is like to be an author.  He shared many of the 30 books that he has written.  The children were very impressed and loved hearing his stories.  He told them that it takes a lot of effort and you can never give up, but keep trying.  Jim explained how his students when he taught 1st grade influenced and helped him write his stories.  Some of his best known books are:  Naughty Little Monkeys, My Sister's Rusty Bike, The Completed Book of Hickory Dickery Dock, The Tale of Tricky Fox, The Burger and the Hot Dog, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. and his newest Little Bitty Housie.  Visit his book list at  http://www.ayles.com/booklist.html

Jim also spent the evening at our school to help us celebrate Language Arts Nights.  He presented to our parents and students and of course signed his books.  Our families enjoyed many activities during the evening like:  writing pass-it-on-books, reading Jim's books and writing a review, writing and reading activities on the computers, making music to books' famous lines, hangman, scabble and much more.
