    What is the PSAT?

    The PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test.  This test is used to identify students for the very prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program.  More importantly, the PSAT is a great practice test for the SAT, which is used for college admissions. 

    Who should take the PSAT?

    All sophomores and college-bound juniors who wish to be considered for the NMSQT should take the PSAT. 

    When is it offered?

    The PSAT will be given to all sophomores and the juniors who sign up on Wednesday, October 17th, which is an all-school test day.

     
    How do I sign up?
    Sophomores are automatically signed up. Interested juniors can sign up beginning Wednesday, September 26th, and have until Wedneday, October 3rd to sign up in Guidance with Mrs. Fugate. Juniors must pay a non-refundable fee of $14.00.

    IMPORTANT: Juniors who take the PSAT on 10/17 will take the ACT practice test on Thursday, October 18th.
