My name is Mathew McKee, and I am the Assistant Principal here at Joan Martin Elementary.  I am very excited to be working with all of you and I believe this is going to be the best year yet!  I am a Hobart resident, and a 2000 graduate of Hobart High School.  I received my BA in Education in 2004 from Purdue University and I have teaching endorsements in Social Studies, Language Arts, and Physical Education.  I later received my MA in Educational Leadership from Ball State in 2012.  From 2006-2014, I was a teacher at the East Chicago Urban Enterprise Academy, a K-8th Grade school.  In 2014, I had the opportunity to come work at Hobart Middle School as a 7th grade Language Arts teacher.  From 2015-2016 I worked at Hobart Middle School as the Dean of Students and Alternative Education Director.  I have a lovely wife named Danielle who is a 5th grade teacher at Ridgeview Elementary, and we have a daughter name Emma.  My interests include: reading, hiking, camping, gardening, running, and cooking.
